 WHAT IS ERD?

An ERD, which stands for Entity Relationship Diagram, ER Diagram, or ER model, is a type of structural diagram used for designing databases. It employs various symbols and connectors to illustrate two essential elements (visualpardigm,2022).

RELATED TERMS

ENTITY

An entity refers to a distinct and specific object in the real world that is being managed within a database system. Examples of entities include an individual person, a singular product, or a particular organization (IBM,2022)

ATTRIBUTE

An attribute is a quality or property that defines an entity type and provides information about the entity. For instance, the Date of Birth attribute is associated with the Person entity type(IBM,2022).

CARDINALITY

Cardinality is the number of unique values contained in a table column in proportion to the number of rows present in the table, with repeated values not being taken into consideration(Allison., 2023).

RELATIONSHIP

In databases, a relationship refers to a condition in which two relational database tables are connected through a foreign key that references the primary key of the other table. This link enables databases to separate and store data in multiple tables while also linking disparate data elements(Techopedia,2023)

With the help of Draw.IO i was able to create this ERD diagram for my business, this ERD diagram contains the relationship between entities in my business which can be sent to costumers
